These stunning vintage African Wedding Baskets embrace the timeless art of basket weaving in the Zambian tribal tradition. Aptly named, a family heirloom is passed down to a bride on her wedding day! Woven from the root of the Makenge Bush, these baskets have stood the test of time and heavy use as winnowing baskets. As the basket wears, artistic "fixes" are made using maize husks adding interest and design.
Handwoven in Zambia from the Makenge root. Baskets vary in size from 9" to 24".
NOTE: Each basket is woven individually with no two exactly alike. We will put a collection together for you. Available in sets of 9, 6, or 3. Set of 3 contains 3 similar sized baskets ranging from 18" to 20".
