These stunning vintage African Wedding Baskets embrace the timeless art of basket weaving in the Zambian tribal tradition. Aptly named, a family heirloom is passed down to a bride on her wedding day! Woven from the root of the Makenge Bush, these baskets have stood the test of time and heavy use as winnowing baskets. As the basket wears artistic "fixes" are made using banana tree leaves adding interest and design.
Handwoven in Zambia from the Makenge root. Bowls vary in size from 8" to 17" diameter, 5" to 10" in height.
NOTE: Each bowl is woven individually with no two exactly alike. Available in sets of 3, 6 or 9.
